the vienna-berlin-connection

it's ok to be half an hour late for work (even though you really promised to be on time), if you had one of the best yoyomeetings the night before.

we had a special burninberlin meet for coyote from vienna, austria. he's visiting berlin and we've known each other from way back when. he definitely made the meeting very special. we had soo much fun!!

a lot of string rocking, yoyo talk, loads of beer and a doener at kotti after 1am! that's the good life!! :D

another highlight was dennis showing up with pablito. two awesome guys. pablo liked the meeting a lot, too, and will most probably be at more meetings in the future.

the only sad part is that we had so much fun, we forgot to take pictures.

i just have to say: .AT KNOWS HOW TO PARTY!!

i fell in love with so many people this weekend

uk nationals is a fantastic event!!

i will not even try to mention everything and everyone making this weekend one of the best in my life. so many players, so many styles and such great people. all of them! and i didn't even get to talk to everyone.

i made contact with four more yoyonations this weekend:

there was the kid from norway (simon i believe) and i didn't even realize until after the contest. already a good player with a bright future, if you ask me.

then there was rushka from latvia. what a guy! only 16 and made his way to uknats all by himself. that's dedication! we didn't talk much, but definitely another awesome yoyo personality from the baltics. watch out for him at upcoming events. i know i will.

and boy was i stoked when i met gavin the day before the contest. my first chinese player!! i couldn't stop touching him. :D great guy and just starting out, he's already tackling 2A and 5A. there's more in store. and he's taking a trophy back to china.

last but not at all least, there was corli. just wow! boy, is she a little bundle of awesomeness. not only skill, but an insane amount of style. so soft and round. and not at all girly. she is hardcore and getting better every day. won sports ladder like it was nothing. and she's krisztian's girl, so she has a very good private teacher. ;)

i can't wait for the next uk event. there's two coming up for 2010: eyym and uknats!! i can only advise every player out there to do their very best to make it to london for at least one of those events. it is going to be fantastic.

paul paulini, wasn't at the contest, but made it to the pub for the preparty

i had the best world yoyo day ever in prague!

the prague community is definitely one of the greatest out there. so much friendship and great traditions. every world yoyo day they have a bbq, where they celebrate by eating, drinking, socializing and of course playing yoyo. since it fell on a weekend this year i went and although the weather was questionable, i had the greatest time! i even learned two new freehand tricks.

my advice to any yoyoer in prague on world yoyo day:
get in touch with them and go to the bbq!!

can't emulate this

for the past week i had half of the official duncan staff staying with me: emil lamprecht!!

he is another one of the awesomest people in the world. the kind you can only meet through hardcore yoyoing. :) i really enjoy having him here in berlin. we already had two yoyo meets with him. one just for him and then he was still around for our regular meet this week.

a gigantic thank you to my warszawa crew for hooking us up!! i love you all anyways, but sending me that guy??!? zajebista akcja!!! <3<3<3

(btw: that guy in the middle on emil's and my lap is axl our resident yo-yo-freak-freak)

[edit: i just learned that he's not all that officially employed by duncan, but i still like the idea and he's definitely a duncan person. a word for LOVE with six letters anyone??]

oh no kyler don't!!

i'm blogging this even though it's only mildly international. on saturday i met up with yojoe and kyler yazzie, my two indian yobros. yojoe is the half india-indian variety and kyler is a straight up native american indian from arizona who's been living in germany the past year. and now he has to go home, because of visa stuff.

kyler is the bomb, and for all you german understanding people out there: "KYLER: KEINER IST GEILER!" he really lifted the level of yoyo playing in northrhine westphalia to a new and higher level. he taught me tricks, that are actually way to complicated for me, but he has this way to get them into my head and hands really fast. and i love every single one of them.

that afternoon in the park in bochum was the best.

because eyym 2009 in zurich this year was the _bomb_!!

so many players, so much fun and so many styles. i just woke up in berlin again for the first time since eyym. i'm trying to catch up on all the photos that are around and will post the links, that i find.

my mind's still wobbling from these wonderful days!

Bangkok was hot.

I just came back from Bangkok for their 1st Thailand National Yo-yo Contest and it was great. The players were great, friendly, accommodating and just great players. It was super fun!
